I like the conditional pick idea btw. I'm going to start offering performance based conditionals -games started, interceptions, etc.

I think conditional picks are realistic. Unfortunately not a lot of owners dabble in conditional picks.
Also, it makes it harder to trade later....for instance, I couldn't trade my 3rd or my 4th now, because I don't know what pick it'll be

I think conditionals are cool depending on the conditions. Things like games started can be user manipulated to fit whatever criteria, same with picks etc. I think things like injury deadlines (like stays healthy for 8 weeks) or player records (must be below or above .500)...stuff like that is cool

I like this idea too... Many teams in sports have lottery protected picks, conditional picks, etc... This makes it more like the NFL... In the off season, i might just have to release VY to make this really more sim or have Brandon Boutte hold out and then force me to trade his ass.... Of course, maybe DW can step in and suspend Boutte for 4 games for violating the DWFL conduct policy.... After my last game, he dropped 2 passes and is the doghouse.

Kevin Williams lasts until at least 2015, which is as far as I've simmed any league. Note that if a player is on a team and retires, he will always retire in that season. Random retirements are always taken from the FA pool, never from players teams, if a player retires off a team then that was his pre-determined year.

The only thing that might change it that it was not in this roster update that I simmed it, so there's a slim chance that he might retire in these rosters, but not in the rosters I've simmed. I doubt EA changes that detail from roster to roster though.

Retirements are hard to follow.
I've played in some leagues where Peyton Manning retired in 2013, and I've seen him also go to 2017....
There is no concrete way to tell, just like there is no way to say a player will progress to a certain point.

Its not consistent between leagues.
