PATS get it done w/o any STAT leaders
After an early and close defeat to frtrain and the BILLS the PATS have put together a great season...
They have the AFC EAST almost locked up and are proficient in a lot of the TEAM STAT categories but they have no individuals in the TOP 10 stat leaders of any category... Although it should be noted that top rusher Beenie Wells (3rd in LG in rushing) was traded away by the PATS a few weeks prior...
But this team is more concerned with TEAM accomplishments as opposed to INDIVIDUAL GOALS... The PATS have the top rated defense in the LG and have the top rated rushing attack by a large margin - the nearest competitor has almost 25% less average yards rushing per game - its clear that this PATS teams believes in the old adage that a great defense, strong run game and the ability to not turn over the ball is the key to success...
The PATS have faced set backs recently - newly aquired RB MICHEAL TURNER (repleacment for Beenie Wells) was injured only after his 3rd carry for the PATS - so on the trade deadline CEDRIC BENSON was added to their RB corp and FB VICKERS to protect him... the initial results were incredible - BENSON had double the amount of yards he gained in his 1st game with the Pats than he had accumulated over the previous 12 games in the season... In addition, highly sought after SCAT RB JAVHID BEST will get a large portion of the carries and he is onpace for a 1000 yard season...
Time will only tell if this group with great TEAM statistics can turn it into post season success - COACH GREENE has only been to one SuperBowl where he lost to Coach R088 and has been stimied with a terrible record of 1 win 8 losses in Conference Final games - So we will see if this regular season success can translate into post season victories!
