I wanted to make this post now so that prospective members will kniw what they are committing themselves too before they join this LG...

In this league you will likely spend more time MANAGING your team than you will playing Madden... The fantasy draft is going to be complex - in the past, we have just drafgted to get the best team available - In this LG you will have to draft your team trying to get the best team available UNDER SALARY CAP GUIDLINES!

You wil be forced to make roster decisions at the end of each season - are you going to sign a player or allow him to become a FREE AGENT??? Of the free agents - who will you target and how high will you be willing to bid on them??? What free agents can you target (that may not be valued by others but can fullfill a need for you) thus allowing you to get them "on the cheap"...

Of course the rookie draft always brings interesting additions to each team - make suyre you have cap room to sign them!!! and be wary of possible HOLDOUTS - those players youy got on the cheap and who put up HUGE NUMBERS) arent gonna let you exploit them year in and year out!!!! And dont think youy can just dump a bunch of players if you get in a salary cap pickle - players under contract have a LEGAL AGREEMENT WITH YOU - dumping them will cost you! CAP PENALTIES will be in force!

I am just touching on the 100 foot view - as more of the details on myleaguemanager's new system become available, I will make more specific posts - but clearly this LG is not for the average Madden gamer...

Sounds great, that is exactly the strategy complexity I was looking for when they first announced online franchise. Can't wait!

This LG is gonna have high level of complexity... Empty questions questions and more questions

Post by boltssbbound Fri Jul 15, 2011 1:53 am

just some random questions that occur to me after looking over whats been posted so far: would hold outs also be determined by myleaguemanager? if you gave those holdouts a pay raise to end the holdout how would their new salary be determined? would it be possible to just wait out a holdout in certain situations or would u always have to pay them what they are asking for? would player contracts be the same every year or would some deals escalate from year to year, or be front loaded like many real nfl contracts? when signing free agents would we be able to choose the length of the contract we offer them? how would cap penalties be determined, would they always be a set percentage of a players salary or could some contracts include more guaranteed money? would holdouts be based on production, overall, or a combination of both?
