Round 7 of the leagueManager Stick Skills Statistical Series will deviate a bit from looking at individual player performance and will focus on the overall success of each team in Madden 11 Online Franchise. I think what we see with these numbers is pretty consistent with what most people would have expected coming in to the Madden 11 season. Teams with high profile rosters, offensive playmakers, and solid talent on both sides of the ball really dominate the list. The top 10 list also features some Madden gamer favorite teams such as the Raiders and 49ers. While they may not necessarily be a a top team in the NFL, their Madden prowess cannot be overlooked.

Another very interesting thing to look at on this list in the home field winning percentage. While there is not a specific bonus given to the home team in Madden games, it seems that there is a SLIGHT advantage over the group for home games. In most cases the home winning percentage is about 2% higher than the away win percentage. Is there some sub-conscience factor at play here that makes us try harder to win when we are playing in front of our home fans?

Analysis:
The Ravens are really the perfect Madden team. They have a great QB (Flacco), a great RB(Ray Rice), and a great receiving core. They have one of the best Madden defenses available with the likes of Ray Lewis, Ed Reed and a slew of other young talented LBs and defensive lineman. They made very pro Madden draft selections like Sergio Kindle and Terrance Cody, and they are just an exciting and fun team to play with. That has obviously translated well to Madden success because the Ravens are sitting pretty at the top of our list.


2. Dallas Cowboys

Analysis:
The Dallas Cowboys were huge favorites coming in to the 2010 season, and their Madden ratings reflected that. Talent all over the field on both offense and defense made them a tough team to play in Madden. Regardless of their implosion in the real NFL, Madden Online Franchise gamers did a much better job with the talent and posted a solid win percentage. Sitting at #2 on this list is really no surprise.
