TIP for those who don't like giving out their CELL #

Go get a Google Voice account. http://google.com/voice

They'll set you up with a free phone number, that forwards calls to your cell phone, and it will email any text messages you receive to whatever email address you have (assume most of you have your email go to your phone as well).

Just something you can use, without having to give out your real cell phone. The best part is you can block numbers, and manage contacts a lot better...

can you do this with a lan line? i share a cell with my chick as i'm not one who texts or really even wants to be bothered by an extra phone bill. im always available through my home phone to call for games but it'd be more convenient for people to text this instead i think.

Absolutely!

Since the texts come to an email address, you don't have to worry about racking up text charges on the phone.
Also, you can have the phone forward calls up to 4 different lines I think.

For instance, I have one that forwards calls to my cell and office during business hours, and then just to my cell after 6pm.

Is pretty damn awesome. Not to mention you can block calls, make callers hear the "the number you are calling is disconnected or not longer in service" message, and you can have different voice messages for different callers....

Yeah I just found an app for that on my iphone. Pretty cool stuff.

damn that'll be perfect for bill collectors. i'll look into it, haven't really had problems getting games in as most people just call and we play right then and there but thats a nice feature to have.
