Phins gain a game in division race; New management moves to 3-0
"A win is a win," commented Miami's new owner. "Gotta tip my hat to Vista for his classy move there at the end, but we'll take it."
The Dolphins were clinging to a 6 point lead with 5 minutes left in the 4th when the power went out in the stadium, disconnected both teams from action. The mix up was on Miami's end as the internet surprisingly quit working at just about the most inconvenient time. Vista and the Titans, with the option to not count the game and restart tomorrow when the south beach internet providers fix the problem, chose to count the game as is, accepting the 6 point loss.
It was a defensive struggle throughout. Tennessee opened the scoring with a long field goal set up by a nicely executed screen to Ronnie Brown. Miami quickly answered with a nicely executed screen of their own, a 78 yard scamper by Javid Best. Tennessee's d-coordinator had obviously seen tape of the previous two games and the amount of looks rookie tight-end, Aaron Hernandez had been getting. The promising youngster was held to just one catch for three yards by the Titans' scheme. Hernandez still had a huge impact on the game though, proving to be a great decoy for the quick-reacting, often usered Line Backers Vista always causes havoc with.
Miami continued the scoring in the 2nd quarter with another big play: Vince Young to Deon Butler for 70 yards down the left sideline. (Why? 'Cause he's MY butler!) Tennessee's D held for the remainder of the half as their O tacked on two more FGs. 14-9 at half. Phins' lead.
The 3rd quarter saw continued defensive dominance by both sides. It wasn't until the opening of the final quarter did Miami extend their lead to 13. A 5 yard drag by young te/wr, Travis Beckum turned into a 30 yard touchdown as he caught two magnificent blocks by Best, who escorted Beckum to the endzone, then a play later, punched in the two-point conversion on a counter.
Tennessee's following possession lasted all of one play, a 74 yard bomb to Massaquoi.
Which is pretty much where we left off, a few plays later the lights went out and we had a final score.
"I promised you fans, as well as the rest of the league, we were going to make a push for the playoffs. We intend to make good on that promise."
Although the Dolphins' three wins have come against solid teams and good owners, critics around the league are still hesitant to call them contenders just yet. With a Bear's team led by Jmo coming to town, the will Phins get their chance to prove their worth.
"Yeah, hell yeah this game is big for us. Every game is. With the Jets and Bills dropping a game this weekend, that puts us three games back with seven to go. A win against the Bears this weekend would be huge, not only for our playoff chances, but also for confidence. But no matter what, the Phins are here to stay. This is our division and it will be for a long time. See you next week!"

When you are posting a reply, there is an icon that looks like a chain link (2 to the left of the movie strip)
It will drop down a 2 lines...one is again the chain link. In that line you cut and paste the webaddress of the recap
And then in 2nd line below it, you type in how you want it to look on the screen....so it would look like this
(top line) http://xtreme-football.net/index.php?r=post/view&lid=96&id=2081
(bottom line) Giants Back to Basics
and it appears like this
