TRYING TO COMPARE MADDEN TO THE NFL TO MUCH??

i really do think sometimes we are gettng way out of hand with suggesting an new rule bc we keep trying to get as close to the real NFL as possible.. i mean sim rules are fine... but trying to make every little thing u dont like about gameplay or stuff that isnt about the gameplay into an rule bc it doesnt happen in the NFL or u dont see it in the NFL is getting alittle overboard...

if we try to make to me rules duplicating what happens in the NFL then its going to come down to new members getting turned off and not wanting to be apart of the MG bc of how many things u are trying to keep people from doing... im all for trying to make great sim rules to go by.. i just think some of these suggests are going alittle overboard...

Like putting a limit on how far you can kick a fg?

what pisses me off the most about the game has nothing to do with " sim " gameplay at all.. lol 1) if im ina gm and get a message why does it take so fuckin long to send a simple response??, 2) long field goals.. id kick em from 80 if i could ,,but random lag prevents that.. 3) why does my fullback occasionally hit the holes and forget who the hell hes supposed to block,, then turns and gets in my fuckin way?? lol 4) rain,, fuckin rain, in dw lg im miami and the last 2 seasons iv had a total of 1 gm at home where it wasnt raining,, bs,, and finally 5) rain part 2 ... if the offensive player in thoery knows where hes goin ,, why is the offensive guys the ones falling on the groundafter makin a cut , they know their routes!!! wtf

I think there should be a limit on how far u can kick a field goal cause that's just ridiculous. U think u gonna make your opponent punt cause he is on the 47 then out comes the field goal unit. And no matter what kicker he got, its automatic

bill u wanted an example... there it is... what txboy just said... and mcblammers said.. and when had the discussion about the qb sub rule... and there where a few others where people tried to relate MADDEN TO THE NFL!!! im sorry guys we are not going to get madden rules down so that it is just like the NFL.. it just aint going to happen...

as far as field goals being limited that just retarded... yeah u can say hitting an 60 yd field goal is automatic with any kicker.. its really not.. u need to have an kicker with KP atleast 95 or higher.. and most of those its not always 100% guaranteed kick.. but im not going to sit there 1st quarter or 2nd quarter down by like 10 and im at the opponents 45 yd line and i have mason crosby with 99 KP and punt the damn ball... im going to line up and kicke the 62 yd field goal... when i know i can make it from atleast 65 yds out with my kicker...

I agree about the not having a limit on FG, but saastar, I'm pretty sure there's enough kicker's with the power to kick a 55yd fg for everyone to have one.

The thing that makes us wanna make more rules to clarify shit is caus ppl think because its not a rule they can do it. If ppl had more integrity to play right we wouldn't have to go that deep into rules or make more.

Telling people to not put points on the board when they can is silly. I know NFL coaches would kick the long FGs if they thought they had a good enough chance of making it. It's risk/reward, in Madden the risk is a little less so therefore it happens more.

But nobody can same that's the point...there our no risk I'm madden...what lag? Not an excuse to be booming 60+yarders. I kno it'll never get passed but its just a thought man. If fgs weren't so automatic there would be no need for a rule. We might as well throw out the fourth down rule as well caus u can kick 63 yrd fgs and ur not punting when u get to your opponents 40. No reward for defense

I agree with Buddah to there should be a limit on the range of the FG's. I mean seriously you work and stop your opponent on the 45(which in my opinion you should be punting) but damn there goes a 62 yard fg sailing through the uprights. I mean seriously? How many of those do you honestly see? Considering the NFL Record is 63 yards. Now Im not saying that there isnt any kicker in the nfl that could make that FG but lets be realistic. We are about playing a sim type of football and guys kicking 62 yarders all game is not realistic.

but to say its impossible or unlikely in the realm of madden isn't realistic either. i agree 100% its not even close to sim, but again its another situation where EA sports drops the ball...you can't expect guys to just give up free points when they have a 99 power kicker, so what can we do? at least we have a league where guys actually kick FG's rather than go for it every fourth down. i can't blame this on the integrity of any of our players, i think we all do a pretty good job replicating a lot of NFL realism off a video game that hardly measures up to simulation itself. this is one i'd have to let go...
