man coverage video

jus somethin i put together being as i was bored today. jus a lil video might not make sense i hope it does. hope i can make somemore.

been out ton8ight and not sober, but that video with deangelo picking off the pass to dez looked sim to me. why would heitgth and weight matter in man coverage on a pass like that?
I think man coverage is definitely not perfect in this game but it is also beatable, and not only with crossing routes.
I don'[t know shit about programming and I never ever played 2k5. However, I think we nee dto remember that the game is pretty damn good. I do remember sega, and techmo bowl and even the atarii game that was like6 on 6 with block guys...If you would have showed this current game to me 10 years ago and showed me all the online features, it would have blown my mind.

People complain about the animations not being in sync and db's shadowing or preidicting the play, but for the most part, it isn't THAT effed up. I mean, the game still keeps my interest, and I've been playing it damn near every day for almost 7 months now. THat's pretty impressive.

I'm not saying that there aren't a bunch of things that they could improve upon, but I like the game.

well this is why man is broken cbs have esp the jump every route but route running does make a difference i wish i had the equipment to make a video

The purpose was to show the match differences. Height and weight on a route like that matter.

1. In the nfl, qb's throw that route in the gut of big wrs.

2. Up close on the replay u can see that when dez mad his cut they where about even and actually touched. If they did in real nfl dez would bodied him and got position. That's y I made that throw to show that. Madden doesn't have that in it.

hahaha good one greener...i can't wait to get a ps2 and start playin 2k5 again. i rly hope EA listens to the guys at the sim standard and improves for m12. only reason i even buy madden is cause of MG.

+1 on the esp thing. That's the problem I have with man coverage in this game, throwing any kind of timing route that requires you to throw when the WR is making their cut is a huge risk because eventually the CB is going to make the cut before the WR and pick it off. Not every time, and yes route running and man coverage abilities do make a difference, but eventually even a CB with terrible man coverage will end up in front of larry fitz on a cut.

The part that is like wtf about it all is the fact that the cb's run the route for the wr. Its different if they were in position to jump the route but literally turning and running as if they were the wr not lookin at the qb is unacceptable. U can't throw a back sholder pass in that case and the wr doesn't stop and let the cb keep running. In greenerrr 1 I have ochocinco who has 97 rte..u can't tell he does 80%-90% of the time. That's funny.

I don't like to get too caught up on the actual animations like the CB not looking at the CB when running the route, and I'll tell you why. As a former coder, the amount of code it would take to make sure that any player is actually reacting like a real player would, would require a lot more calculations and loops (thus lead to game play lag).

As far as the CB running the route for the WR, well thats been pretty well documented. Sure its gay if you slow it down and watch it, but I just consider it as a CB with fantastic coverage on that play....

the DeAngelo pick in your video though, is 100% clean...he had much better inside position, so why would height and weight matter? If it was a jump ball on the outside or something, that might make a better comparison....cuz god knows we see that all the time.

Referencing Shane about code, I'd much rather have less lag than a perfect animation so I can't fault em for that. Next yr will be better just like they always get better every year.
