NFL Dynasty Quarterly Report, Q1 Season II
4 games into the season and already we have interesting dynamics taking place!
2 of the 5 undefeated teams did not even make the playoffs last year!
4-0 Kansas City Chiefs - BigLarry
Great balanced attack offensively and a solid defense last season, though somehow ended up with a losing record. Not the case now. What is the biggest reason for his turnaround? Alex Smith is 5th in QB rating and HB Kendall Hunter leads the NFL in rushing yards on pace for a 2,000 + yard season!
4-0 J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS - Rainders_Nationx2
Matt Ryan is right behind Chiefs Alex Smith in QB Rating, 7th in TD passes. Rookie TE Wales, 6'7, has been a difference maker, taking heat off of AJ Green (4td catches, over 400 yards receiving). Great draft pick!
Unfortunately, both the Jets and Chiefs still have a lot to prove if they want to be more than just a short-term Cinderella story as both defenses are ranked in the bottom half of the NFL. As we saw in the Super Bowl, defense really does win championships even though the top offense in the NFL won more games (18-1).
0-4 Patriots - JWallace
Rough start for New England, going 0-4 after winning their division last year and losing a very close game in the playoffs. Certain key offensive players were added in the draft to bolster a solid defense but things simply haven't meshed together well. 9-7 won their division last year but with the red hot Jets off to a 4-0 start, this will be a tough challenge.
Dallas Cowboys - I_Love_Areaolas
Only loss comes to You-Know-Who. 10th Ranked offense with Cam Newton leading the entire NFL with the highest QB Rating and 12th ranked defense (despite not forcing a ton of turnovers or sacks) shows well balanced Areolas.
AFC West. 4-0, 3-1, 3-1. At this rate, the Chiefs, Broncos and Raiders could all make the playoffs. Of course, it's early in the year...
Colin Kapernick. 13 TDs and only 3 INT! Either he's very, very good... or guys in the NFC just can't play defense. Really Kapernick, that's how you're felling right now?
BeWareofDaD-Fence - Browns Corners. 11 interceptions by both starting corners already. 6'3 Sean Smith and 6'4 Brandon Browner. Pick a side to throw to, really doesn't matter. One DB on pace for 16 picks, the other is a slacker, only on pace for 6.
Drew Brees. 17 interceptions and only 5 td passes. Might be time to retire. Next time you think it's a good idea to throw the ball...don't.
Kody Grosso, Bengals. Stop laughing at Drew Brees. You may only be a rookie, and sure you at least have 12 TD passes, but 19 int's? You're not at Michigan State and this isn't the Big Ten. Congrats, you're on pace for nearly 40 picks. Somehow, the Bengals are actually off to a solid start. Who-d...duh...hmm...
RGIII. Oops. Who gave up an 83 yard run to this qb? Be a man and own up to it!
Zastudiil, however you spell his name. He's a punter, so who cares. But 6 out of his 10 punts were inside the 20. Now that's execution on special teams.

Woohoo! I got a positive mention! Although I forget who I broke that 83 yarder on.. I think it was the Jets. I can barely remember yesterday though, so my memory is awful.
