New innovation - NITELY PSN CHAT

Have been polling members who have recently left the MG and asked why they have left.. - (in effort to make us a better group...) 1 of the things that i found interesting that some1 brought up is that there is no sense of "friendly rivalary" or ongoing "trash talk... there is a moderate ammount on the message boards - but in an effort to spice things up a bit - i thought we would try the following:


each nite i would ask 1 of the commishes to start a NITELY CHAT SESSION... invite as many MG members as you - and if u are not a commish but see other MG members maybe not on a commish friends list - feel free to invite them... If we get a chat full - start a new one for other members who log on later in the nite...

what we can use this for is NITELY chat and BS talk... perhaps discuss trades - or make fun of me for using ALL CAPS- perhaps talk a lil friendly trash or give advice on a players tendencies in an informal scouting report - lots of BS to talk about...

i know while i am in the midde of a game i will not want to see the messages floating across the screen - so i will log out while i am playing (as i assum other will)...

what u guys think? good idea?

I think that there is already an AIM chat blast for the Chz_lg, and quite a few of us use it.... but not everyone.

It would be nice if the chatbox on the front page was on the top corner of all pages (maybe in a frame) so its always there?

It would be nice to see more people online more often....that is for sure.

As bad as I suck it would be a very long time before I talked an ounce of smack lol.

typically we got....8-10 guys I believe who are active...

if everyone would just easily download AIM...you could have easy nightly chats.

Heck, in my day...about 5-6 years ago...everyone used AIM...

Blast chat is fun, we have it for my other league and there's a TON of friendly rivalries and trash talking and discussions of all sorts of things, not just Madden. Makes them feel more like friends than just fellow owners. There's also a lot of play-by-play type stuff that goes on so people can 'follow' a game, and we can bitch about how Madden just screwed us AGAIN.

We now have the 'Chz Lg' blast group that a bunch of us are starting to use, but it's not just Chz, there's also a bunch of surf and DW talk going on. I wish more people would join. If you want in just hop on Aim and shoot an IM to Phantomshark and I'll make sure to invite you (anyone can do it, but for some reason I seem to do the most of it, lol).

the chat blast is nice. especially when my laptop is always on im always logged on to aim so the blasts come all the time. i have to turn the sound notification off if im too busy to pay attention or in a game or doing something else with the sound on my laptop. i think either everyone use the chatbox on the homepage or every franchises have their own aim blast.

problem is many people dont have a NOTE BOOK PC - i use a desk top PC and its located in my office (in a seperate floor of my home than my gaming room)... the PSN chat would be accessible by all members - regadless if they access to a PC or NOTEBOOK computer... The idea is definitely to get every1 envolved - and your current chat system sounds great - but no doubt it is somewhat exclusive - and as a community we should be looking to reach out to all members...

another suggestion made by wilsonn22 was to have a chat set up for each LG - that way you could jump form 1 chat to another to discuss topics specific to 1 LG

Yeah but then its limited to the time people are on the PS3s.... A lot of people only get on to play their games, but have time to talk outside.
AIM works on every single smart phone on the market (most have it preinstalled in some way)

yea i can use it on my pnone and also im usually only on my madden account to play madden.

I think doing something like this is a great idea, the AIM group is pretty fun, and this would be a good way to get more people involved. I also think if there's a way to make the chatbox on the website more user friendly/noticable, that would be a big plus. I have no idea how to do that, but I know a couple of the people who left said their other leagues had better chatboxes.

thats what i am getting at surf... sure the PSN chat is limited to 16 - but how many are on the AIM chat

we could have a chat set up for the the most popûlar 2 LGs - (CHZ and DW) and a third for the rest of the LGs... that way u could jump between chats - and i am sure it would accomodate all the people who are on the PSn at the same time...

agins the focus tryn to include more people instead of limiting the possibility of particpation because u dont have access to a laptopé PC or smart phone - we now we all have PS3!!!

i guess the downside would be that u would have to bner at home to be part of the chat - i dont think too many of us have acces to a PS3 at work!

I hate PSN chat, it's not user friendly, and with AIM you can talk even when you are not in front of the PS3. A lot of people AIM from work. I don't think you need seperate chats for different leagues, 1 big blast group for the whole MG would work, and people can always private AIM for things like trade talks.

again your missing the point - if every1 in the Madden Group had access to a PC in the same spot as there PS3 - the AIM idea is ideal... but the bottom line is that only the guys in the current AIM group have that capability (or there would be more joiners) - and i am not sayn u cant have an AIM group as well - but why not make the CHAT available to every1 in the Madden Group - not just the current group that use AIM... - in addition u can send PMs to each other that are equally private on the PSN chat...

I will create the first CHAT tonite and invite all the Madden Group members - I am hoping every1 chooses to particpate - besides u dont have to say anything - you can just be a quiet listener and if you would like to particpate in the AIM chat as well - thats great...

I probably won't join any PSN chats, simply because they are bulky awkward, and not user friendly.

if you post on this forum, you have access to AIM. If you have a cell phone that runs apps, you have access to AIM. If you don't want to install AIM create an account at Meebo.com and you have access......

I would suggest you find a flash chat mod to install on the site....but even then, there is usually less than 10 users on at a time.
