Falcon...I just wanted to apologize for what happened in our game today.

Just to fill everyone in...today in my game against falcon...I had to quit in the second quarter after being down 14-7. I am in the process of buying a new house and during the first quarter...I got a call from our bank that I had to head down and drop off some paper work to speed up the closing of our new house before noon (the time I quit on Falcon was like 10 till 11 am). I had to quit on Falcon after sending him a few messages explaining what was going on and I feel like shit for it because now the game is probably gonna get simmed since we both have plans to go out tonight.

Falcon, I just wanted to release this apology on here because I know you check this regularly and I noticed I missed you online earlier this afternoon. I'm sorry bro. I don't want to ruin your perfect season if the cpu gives me the win. Sad

Well I'm glad to say...with a simmed game this morning with injuries off (as I always do when I sim anyone's game)...The CPU gave the win to Falcon 25-20. I would have seriously felt like shit if it gave me the win. Once again bro...I apologize.

it happens man, we both had a busy weekend i was more disappointed we didn't get a full game in. i know i probably won't get a 16-0 season anyways i was just more concerned with the injuries from a sim game for both of us...plus i NEVER get sim wins i think this is my first in your league lol. much appreciate the post, i tried to get back this morning asap to see if you advanced but didn't get home til 11. hopefully we get another crack at each other next season.

DW, I jumped on Greener about this, so I have to say something to you..... Even given the circumstances.
Turning Injuries off to me isn't SIM at all.... 30 other teams in the league had to face the chance of getting a player injured, no doubt many teams lost a player for a game, games, or maybe even season this week because they had to play their game with the Injuries on.

Now I know you do this for everyone who SIMs a game, but seriously, In my own not-so-humble opinion, this is giving two teams a competitive advantage... and shouldn't happen.

Not in any game, no matter what the circumstances.

Shane, I completely agree with you. But there is one thing that you're over looking here. Simmed Madden games have a way higher percentage of injuries than a regular played Madden game. Don't agree with me???...just ask Falcon what happened to his squad last season. It wouldn't be fair at all if you lost your star QB or start HB for the whole entire season in a game you didn't even play. Now...CPU games are a completely different story. But if two guys just can't get a game time scheduled...it's not fair for them to lose a player for the year...especially if neither one of them even got a chance to play the game (CPU game).

Oh I know the the %'s are higher in those.... but to me its a choice you make. Get your game in, or face the risk. And even if the percentage is higher, the fact is there is a zero percent chance of injury when the injuries are turned off.

As far as being fair, how is it any different than if I had played the game? Its not. If anything it puts the onus on me to actually play my game, instead of Siming it, so the risk is less.

I'd say its not fair for the other 30 owners that might have suffered an injury because they actually got online to play their game? so they get punished for playing, while the person who doesn't play gets rewarded with no injuries? Does that make sense?

Not trying to get into a pissing contest with you, but I guess I just can't see a way in which this is rewarding people for not playing their games.

dude fr8 ur making an big deal over something that shouldnt be an big deal.. i mean i agree with what DW is saying.. guys have stuff that comes up and cant help the situation.. DW had to do paperwork for his house(more important that madden) and FF had plenty going on that weekend as well... they couldnt get the gm in by the time they needed to.. but should they be punished by having their players get injuries by an cpu sim?? NO... i think its plenty fair.. and every commish does it for everyone.. so there is really no advantage...

so i really disagree with what ur trying to say and think every commish is being fair and its the right thing to do..

I 100% agree with Saastar here. It's different than a guy who purposely isn't playing his games every week. I have eliminated everyone in the DW franchise with the most recent removal of Huffinator...who wasn't playing their games week after week. If guys aren't playing their games at this point in the year...it's not because they are ignoring their opponent. We have an amazing group of guys now. Falcon and I just had a bad weekend....I had all intensions of playing my game vs him. But as i said...I had some issues i had to take care of that were to me...more important than any madden game. I've always said...Family comes first. It was also Falconfan's anniversary with his woman this weekend. It was just bad timing. I felt like shit for having to quit on him. I'm so glad it gave him the win.

Shane, you gotta realize...this isn't your average franchise. The guys in this franchise actually care about their games. Giving them the common courtesy of knowing their players aren't going to get injured if for some reason they can't play their games should be accepted by everyone. I 100% back my decision and feel that we should continue to turn off injuries while simming any games.

I'm on Fr8s side here, it's completely not fair to me to lose someone for the season because I play the game. So if I'm playing vs someone I have no chance of beating, like CP, I should just take the sim to make sure I don't have any injuries?

No because if you are purposely missing games you will eventually get the boot. I don't see why this is such a big deal. Just play your games and get over it.

I like your idea of turning it off. I just lost my star O linemen iupati in kight league for the season do to a sim game that my opponent never responded to my messages. Plus i was 6-0 and the only undeafeted team left in the league and got a loss lol. Crazyness

In this scenario, CP would get a CPU game and therefore he would be playing which would put all players in harms way. If BOTH players cannot make it to play, I have absolutely no problem with injuries off. I do completely understand Shane's position though. It could be construed as a disadvantage to actually play all of your games. However, I'm willing to let two guys that cant make it to their game not have to worry about losing any players because no human would be involved in the game. As has been earlier stated in this thread, if you arent playing your games on a regular basis you dont need to be in the league anyway. In other words, not playing your games on a very regular basis is not a good winning strategy.
